DENTAL IMPLANTS

Dental Implants vs Bridge: Which Is Right for You?

Both options can replace a missing tooth, but they solve the problem in different ways.

The essential difference.

A dental implant replaces the missing root and supports its own crown. A traditional bridge fills the space by using neighbouring teeth as supports.

When an implant may be preferred

An implant can preserve adjacent healthy teeth and provide independent support. It requires suitable bone, healing time and appropriate general and oral health.

When a bridge may be preferred

A bridge can be useful when neighbouring teeth already need crowns, when implant surgery is unsuitable, or when a shorter treatment sequence is important.

Longevity and maintenance

Both options require excellent hygiene and regular reviews. Implant crowns and bridges may eventually need maintenance or replacement even when their supporting structures remain healthy.

Choose after a clinical assessment.

Bone levels, gum health, bite, adjacent teeth, medical history, timing and budget all influence the recommendation. A personal examination is the only responsible way to decide.
